Carambolim Lake is known as one of the most interesting and picturesque wildlife preservation in Goa. It is located just in a few kilometers to the south-east of Old Goa, in the surrounding of countryside and is home to various species of birds. It is a perfect place for spending a beautiful morning spotting birds.
Goa, falling in the tropical zone, has several diverse habitats: the Western Ghats, forests, Sanctuary, lakes, open fields, coastal areas- including beaches and mangroves. Each area is special in its own way and has a necessary ecological function. Together, they combine to make Goa a unique bird watching site.

Itinerary
- Reach the beautiful Carambolim Lake at 6 AM and get prepped for your bird watching tour. Enjoy a delicious and light breakfast and enjoy the delight of spotting some beautiful birds like Golden Orioles, Barbets, Purple Swamphens, Kingfishers, Woodpeckers, to the shy Painted Snipe to the social Magpie Robin, to the resplendent Peacock, the omnipresent Cattle Egret and many more. Birds can be seen the whole year round but the best time for birding is mid October - mid March. So grab your binoculars and cameras and head to Carambolim to observe the winged wonders.
